This form serves as an application to become part of the SACAI NQF L1 examination team.

There are two positions that can be applied for: EXAMINER and MODERATOR.

Please take note that if you are successful, you will be appointed in the same position, either examiner or moderator, for 3 examination cycles.                             

SACAI, under the direction of Umalusi, expects the examination teams to act as the Chief

Markers and Internal Moderators during the marking of these question papers.

2. You cannot apply for a learning area if you are not currently teaching it at ABET Level 4 or have taught the level since 2023.

2. You cannot apply for a subject if you are not currently teaching it at grade 12 level or have taught at it grade 12 level from 2023. 
3. You can only apply for a maximum of TWO subjects, use a separate form for each application.

SACAI invites registered students to apply for the position of Examination Assistants for the NSC and GETC: ABET examinations.

Please apply if you are:

• A competent Examination Assistant, 
• Registered at a tertiary institution, at least first year level,
• Have no family members currently writing the National Senior Certificate examinations,
• Proficient in English and / or Afrikaans

Marking will take place at SACAI’s offices in Garsfontein. on the following dates:

• 31 October to 4 December

Accommodation and transportation is not included. An hourly rate of R80 per hour is paid.

Please note: Examination Assistants who were involved in irregularities or who do not adhere to the rules and regulations at the marking centre will not be appointed in future and will be dismissed immediately.

No late applications will be accepted. 

The closing date for the application is 31 September 2025.
